"There are no limitations placed upon someone because of their past, only a pursuit towards the glorious future destiny that God has planned for us. The hunger on the inside of each of us for significance and greatness is the God ordained call to pursue Christ. We are an active church body ready to greet you with encouragement and support. "

Our History

Christian Life Center is an Assemblies of God Church established in August of 1984 in the town of Cicero Illinois. It is the manifestation of the burden placed in the heart of Pastor David Tinberg.  In May of 1983 Pastor Dave, who at the time was a student at Central Bible College, felt the Lord leading he and his wife Cindy to pioneer a church in the Cicero-Berwyn area.

Christian Life Center (CLC) was not an easy church to establish. Many churches had tried and failed to start an evangelical church in the area, but this wasn't a deterrent to Pastor Dave and Cindy.  It took them many years of prayer, dedication, and hard work to see the fruit of their labor. CLC started in the chapel of a funeral parlor with a handful of faithful congregants. Through the work of Pastor Dave, CLC members, and most of all the Holy Spirit, Christian Life Center eventually blossomed into a congregation of Spirit filled believers who are active in accomplishing the work of God.

It wasn't long before CLC outgrew the chapel of the funeral parlor, and a store front after that, and eventually an old Masonic Temple. Pastor Dave prayed for a building that would allow the church to continue to grow. In 2004, through a series of miraculous events, that prayer was answered and Christian Life Center purchased the building that stands at 3409 Grove Ave, in Berwyn, Illinois. After this, God continued to do miracles that led to the renovation of what once was a church led by the founder of Berwyn, Charles Piper.

Christian Life Center has now established itself in the Berwyn community by not only holding powerful services on Sundays and Wednesdays, but by also opening one of the most successful food pantries in the State of Illinois. The CLC Food Pantry feeds hundreds of families in need on a monthly basis, and in 2015, launched a monthly Community Kitchen that provides hot meals to the hungry.
